A tool that helps generate DPIA's at the Research Center of the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security
The WODC, the Research and Data Centre of the Dutch Ministry of Justice and Security, performs research using large and highly sensitive datasets, including criminal records, police data, asylum information and other special categories of personal data. As a result, the organisation carries out roughly fifty Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) each year to support GDPR compliance. Until recently, this process relied heavily on manually completed Word documents, with many recurring steps repeated from scratch for every assessment. I developed the DPIA Invulhulp to automate these repetitive elements and guide researchers through the process more consistently. The tool helps streamline compliance with the GDPR and the Ministry’s internal privacy and data-protection requirements.
